How to Create Your First FootEx Ball IQ League

Set up a private league, invite your mates, and turn daily trivia into a season-long bragging rights competition.

How to Create Your First FootEx Ball IQ League

Nothing sharpens your football knowledge quite like proving it against people you actually know. Whether it's your five-a-side group chat, your office, or your mates from school, setting up a league on FootEx turns daily trivia into a season-long bragging rights competition. Here's everything you need to know to get one started properly.

Why Start a League?

Playing solo is fun, but leagues are where FootEx really comes alive. A league gives you:

  • A running leaderboard so you can track who's actually the sharpest football brain in your group
  • A reason to check in every single day (nobody wants to fall behind)
  • Built-in banter potential - nothing like a last-place finish to spark a group chat argument

Step 1: Open the League Setup Screen

The place to start for creating your league is on the "My Leagues" box on your Club House/profile page.

Click on the orange "Create" button, and this will take you to screen you'll need.

Step 2: Name Your League and Choose Your Settings

Some ideas for a league name:

  • Reference an inside joke
  • A fantasy-football-style pun,
  • Or just keep it simple and use the name of your WhatsApp group, company name, or whoever you're choosing to gather in the league

For your settings, you have three privacy levels for your league:

  1. Public: anyone can find, discover, and join your league
  2. Approval-only: anyone can see your league, but in order to join they need the approval of an admin or owner from the league
  3. Private: people can only view/join the league when they're invited to it.

Step 3: Invite Your Players

A league is only as good as the people in it. Once it's set up, you'll want to get your friends in fast before the first day's game locks.

Navigate to the league's leaderboard, click the "Manage players" button in the top right, and type in the name of the user that you want to invite.

This will give that user an invite which they can easily accept in their "My Leagues" page, or click into directly from their notifications.

Step 4: Start Playing

Once your league is live, everyone plays the same daily game and points get tallied automatically. Check back regularly to see where you land.

A Few Tips for a League That Actually Sticks

  • Set a regular time each day to remind everyone to play
  • Create a side chat for reactions and trash talk
  • Consider a small prize or forfeit for whoever finishes last each month
